To the Telegram:

I have questions.

The Bush tax cuts have been in place for more than 10 years and renewed in December 2010 with the promise these tax cuts would create jobs. Unemployment is at 9.1 percent. Why? Where are the jobs that were promised when the tax cuts were extended?

Huge corporations pay little to no federal taxes with billion dollar profits. (General Electric and Exxon Mobil are two examples.) I pay more in federal taxes than many of these huge companies. (Information about these companies can be found on the Internet.) The logic is they provide jobs, but all Americans provide jobs in one of three ways: By the products they buy, by the services they use (auto mechanics, beauticians, cashiers in retail stores, etc.), and the people they hire personally (home repair contractors, attorneys, painters, etc.). Why should huge corporations pay little to no federal taxes? Why aren't they paying their fair share?

Huge corporations sit on $1.7 trillion dollars. Why? Why aren't they providing jobs?

Oil speculators are making millions/billions of dollars at the expense of all Americans and a fragile economy. Why is this permitted to happen?

We continue to subsidize these oil companies at taxpayers' expense when many of them are making record profits and paying little to no federal taxes (Exxon Mobil and Chevron for example). Why are we subsidizing these oil companies?

CEOs and Wall street traders are making record salaries and bonuses. Why aren't they sharing the pain that they created by their reckless destruction of the economy?

The campaign of 2010 was all about jobs, jobs, jobs. Where are the jobs?

Please contact your elected officials and ask them: What have you done since the election in November 2010 to create jobs? How many jobs have you created since taking office? Where are the jobs? We need to hold our elected officials accountable.
