The Wisconsin Supreme Court (5 out of the 7 of them) recently decided that even though a litigant appearing before the Supreme Court had donated $10,000 (or maybe even $20,000) to a justice's campaign, it would be OK for that justice to rule in favor of that litigant.

They said money is speech. In my mind allowing a judge to take significant money from a litigant is almost the definition of corruption. I think our state Supreme Court is now corrupt.

I would say to Justice Michael Gabelman: You lived here in Burnett County. You owe us better than this. I understand you are up for election next year. I won't be voting for you.
