On April 5, Wascott will be electing a new town board. Before you vote, please take some time to consider some of the issues in this election:
q Why does the current board conduct and allow personal attacks on other duly elected town officers during town board meetings?
q Why does the current board often bring personal business into Town Board meetings?
q Why is the current board depleting the reserve fund to plug fiscal gaps? It may keep the levy down temporarily, but what happens when the reserve fund is gone?

q Shouldn't special meetings be, well, special and used only under time critical or emergency situations? How does this apply to the Mission & Vision statement segment which reads "The Town Board will deliver public service in a transparent manner"? Meeting at times when few can attend does not provide transparency.
q Why the avalanche of resolutions, ordinances and policies? 62 under this board? This is not Madison, Superior or Spooner for that matter. Does Wascott really need more and more "rules"?
q Why did the current chair dismiss the previous cemetery committee? Was it because the committee was not performing or was it "personal"? Is no committee an improvement over an experienced and functioning committee?
q Why did the current chair ignore and in some cases demonize valuable volunteer organizations and individuals? Shouldn't the chair be nurturing these same groups and individuals? Why has this chair alienated neighboring town and village boards to the point where they refuse to work with her unless it's "absolutely necessary"? Is this healthy?
q Why does the current board herald the "news" that our town roads are now plowed in nine hours, yet many residents complain that they "seldom see a plow truck"? It's obvious that the plowing plan, if one does exist, is unpredictable at best.
You can begin to take control of the town of Wascott again on April 5. If you feel that our small town is being "over-governed" and would like to get back to a less intrusive and less confrontational board and restore a sense of Community Pride in Wascott, vote for Greg Jensen, chairman, Mike Stupak, supervisor, and Jeannette Atkinson, clerk/
