On Aug. 9, I’m asking you to:

No. 1 - Get out and vote in the primary election.
No. 2 - Vote for Tracy Middleton for Douglas County Register of Deeds
Here is why I will be voting for her:
I worked with Tracy Middleton in the Register of Deeds Office for seven years. During that time, she was also appointed Deputy Register of Deeds based on her knowledge of running the office. She knows that office, inside and out. She was extremely cooperative with the walk-in counter public; taking the time to research, explain land issues (that are not always easy for someone who doesn’t work with legal descriptions, deeds, easements) and politely dealt with them to answer their questions, record their documents and didn’t give up until their needs were met.
Middleton also had a wonderful rapport and developed a personal connection with the numerous abstract companies that worked in the office every day. Her demeanor with the lawyers when they’d need assistance with either research or the recording of documents was professional, with a dash of humorous banter thrown in, yet always with the utmost respect in which the attorneys deserved. She also had the same interrelationship with the many banks and loan institutions that were filing, many times, multiple mortgages, satisfactions, and other legal papers all at once. Each document was checked over without haste and then recorded accurately and efficiently.
Another crucial and very important part of the Register of Deeds Office is the confidentiality, respect, correctness and filing of the county’s vital records. This includes all new birth, marriages and deaths that occur within Douglas County. But along with filing new certificates also comes the responsibility of maintaining and preserving the records for when one needs a certified copy of their certificate, for historians and genealogists. Her exactness, care and understanding of this was foremost to her.
I cannot say enough about why she, in my opinion, would be the perfect candidate for Douglas County Register of Deeds. Tracy has the experience, the knowledge and the long-term relationships already established. She utterly and genuinely cares about the people she’s working for, us, the residents of Douglas County. So please vote for Tracy Middleton.
