Editor's note: The third grade class at Superior's Cathedral School submitted Letters to the Editor in honor of Earth Day. Their parents have given their permission for their letters to be printed.
It is important to take care of the Earth and cleaning the ocean. We keep the ocean clean because it doesn't help animals, it might hurt them. For example, the animals might think it is food and try to eat it and get really sick or die.
Earth Day is a good way to help kids to learn about taking care of the Earth. People celebrate this holiday because it takes place in saving animals and keeping the Earth healthy. Just think what it would be with out this holiday, there would be loads of trash that's why there's Earth Day.
