I think that Earth Day should be a week long instead of one day.

Editor's note: The third grade class at Superior's Cathedral School submitted Letters to the Editor in honor of Earth Day. Their parents have given their permission for their letters to be printed.

I believe that it is important to clean up garbage every where. Cleaning up garbage is important because trash leaks in to the ocean and kills sea animals. For example, there are a billion pounds of trash in the ocean. Cleaning up trash in the ocean is good for the earth and sea animals.

I think that Earth Day should be a week long instead of one day. Earth Day should be a week long because we would have more time to do things like plant trees. For example, in the USA millions of people celebrating Earth Day could clean up garbage from the ocean. Earth Day should be celebrated not only in April but in June and July.
