Editor's note: The third grade class at Superior's Cathedral School submitted Letters to the Editor in honor of Earth Day. Their parents have given their permission for their letters to be printed.
It is important to plant trees. Planting trees is serious because if you don't do it then the animals will die. For example, if we cut down all the trees, we won't get sweet, crunchy, yummy apples! Trees give us oxygen for us to breathe and live.
You should celebrate Earth Day by using milk cans for a bird feeder. By using garbage for crafts than we won't have a lot of trash! The whole world on Earth Day should celebrate Sen. Nelson and plant trees because he's the one who started Earth Day. So keep some cardboard — it can be a great car!
