One of the headlines around the May 29 news broadcasts was that a group of eighth-graders who went on a trip to Washington, D.C., and some of them snubbed House Speaker Paul Ryan to voice their opinion about the Republican agenda.
Excuse me parents and educators, but the eighth-graders from New Jersey you are so proud of should be sent to their rooms without televisions, iPhones or other electronics until these mimicking young ones learn respect for their elders and government authority - whether they agree with them or not.
Eighth-graders should talk about baseball stats and what to do during the summer - just being eighth-graders.
Why are parents in so much in a hurry to promote their own agendas that they put these kids up to public disrespect for authority and then claim to be proud that your insolent kid made the headlines when they have no clue what side of the aisle he is on, let alone which lawmaker crosses his line.
Wake up parents: When your child is killed by a police officer because he defied the officer, or finds himself tear gassed at a rally - don't shed tears. You have a chance to let a child be a child, and later, with maturity, make up his or her own mind.

Indoctrinating your children at an early age with your side - well, one of the last "freedoms" children might still have is to be a child or teenager, and worry about grades and sports rather than political parties and hate.
Give them a break; they will be adults very soon.
