William J. Reynolds, Jr.

William J. Reynolds, Jr., 80 of Superior, died Wednesday November 18, 2020 at Superior Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Superior.

He was born January 12, 1940 in Superior, son of Mabel (Dixon) Reynolds and William J. Reynolds, Sr.

Bill proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Wasp.

His work history started as a railroad inspector in Minneapolis; then with student services at the Rothwell Student Center at UWSuperior; was Personel and Safety Director with Superior Water Light and Power; and retired from Minnesota Power as an Executive of Insurance claims.

Bill was a Past President of the Superior Lions Club, trainer with the American Red Cross, and member of the United Way, Toastmasters, Elks, and Masonic Lodge.

He enjoyed various outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, photography, and golfing. Bill and his wife Carolyn (Liljegren) also looked forward to their winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama and entertained many with his joyous laughter.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and sisters, Ruth Reynolds and Carol Halverson.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn of over 56 years; son, William J. (Suzanne) Reynolds, III, Gordon, WI; grandsons, Zakary and Alex; brother, Edward (Linda) Reynolds, San Diego, CA; sister, Janet Young, Eagan, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
