William “Bill” C. Laible

William “Bill” Charles Laible, 55, was born into eternal life on December 10th, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. He passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, with his fiancée Nikki and daughter Olivia by his side. He was welcomed into heaven by his sister, Lori Coulson, his father Charles Laible and step father Stanley Skelton.

Bill was born in Marshfield, WI on January 8th, 1965 to parents Charles and Eleanor Laible. Bill was raised and attended schools in Superior. After graduating from Superior Senior High School in 1983, he attended and graduated from University of Wisconsin - Superior with a business degree. He married Kim Olson and they raised two wonderful children.

Bill was an active participant and a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church in Superior. He had many interests throughout life including downhill skiing, water skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, photography and the Green Bay Packers. In recent years, he acquired a strong love for riding his motorcycle. His adventurous spirit led him on journeys throughout the country on his bike. More than anything, he loved spending time and exploring with his fiancée Nikki.

Bill was a true maverick, in every sense of the word. He always followed his own path, and did everything in life with passion and flare. Once he overcame his own battle with addiction, he found his faith completely renewed and restored. He became instrumental in the AA community, encouraging others to follow the same path and accepting others no matter what step they were on. Whether it was in their journey to sobriety or faith, Bill was a calm and encouraging presence for many. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his fiancé Nicole “Nikki”, his daughter, Olivia Laible and son, Brett Laible, his mother, Eleanor Laible Skelton, siblings, Judy (Tom) Quick, Brad (Annie) Laible, nieces and nephews, Bob (Jane) Coulson, Shannon (Brent) Stuart, Ryan Coulson, Andrew Quick, Allie (Mike) Johnsted, Nikki’s children, Kyra, Elijah, Kristen, the mother of his children, Kim Laible, great nieces and nephews and many special friends.

Bill’s favorite verse was Proverbs 16:9... “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”
