Stanley Smith
Stanley Smith of Superior, WI died May 21, 2021 at the age of 92. He was born and raised on a farm in Cumberland, WI.
He enlisted in the Army during the Korean war and was wounded while proudly serving his country.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Elaine Kunselman, on June 7, 1953 and had 67 years of marriage until her death on November 21, 2020.
Stanley worked as a carpenter on the High bridge while going to college in Superior. He was a medical technologist and the head of the lab department at Miller Dwan hospital for many years.
After retirement he worked at the Bingham hardware stores and volunteered at the Bong Veterans Historical Ceneter.
Stanley was a problem solver, inventor, builder, and artist. He loved working with wood, carving, stained glass, paint, and fabrics.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Fern Smith, brother Danial Clair Smith, and wife Dorothy.
He is survived by sons, Bruce (Marjorie) Smith, David Smith, Steven Smith and daughter Koralie Madsen. Grandchildren Bryan Smith, Carrie (Erik) Olson, and Kendall (Adam) Bjornstad. Great grandchildren Hudson and Emmy Smith, and Benson Bjornstad.
Per Stanley’s wishes, no public services will be held.
