Stanley J. Alexson

In the early morning of December 1, 2020, Stanley Joseph Alexson died at the age of 87. Stanley was the son of Walter and Tyyne Alexson, born on March 26, 1933. He graduated in the second-ever commencement from Northwestern High School in Maple, Wisconsin in 1951 and was also prom king of his class. Prior to his military service, he worked for Warehouse Co-Op in Superior, Wisconsin. He served in the US Army as a Military Police Officer during the Korean Conflict. While stationed in San Francisco, he met his future bride Lou Ellen Virginia Stotelmyer while both were serving in the military. They married, while on leave, on October 30, 1954 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. Together they returned to northern Wisconsin and raised their four sons.
Stanley attended two years of vocational training to become a machinist in Superior, Wisconsin, he went on to work for Cummins Diesel Company in Duluth, Minnesota. After 35 years, he retired as Sales Manager in 1992. He was an active member of the Brule River Lions Club and Faith Lutheran Church in Maple Wisconsin. Upon retirement, Stanley and Lou Ellen enjoyed travel throughout the United States, spending winters in Texas with friends, but found the greatest joy watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and prosper.
Stanley Alexson was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lou Ellen, brother Steven (Peggy) Alexson and sister Marsha (Mark) Burdick, sons Mark (Lynn) Alexson, Vance Alexson, Ross (Randy) Alexson, and Reed (Kim) Alexson; grandchildren Leah (Jason) Klobucher, Alayna (Justin) Beacom, Ashley (Chris) Haneca, Kayleen Alexson, Kristen (Mike) Naumann, Justin (Casey) Alexson, Adam (Cydney) Kelly; great-grandchildren Campbell, Elliott, and Macyn Klobucher, Reed and Luke Beacom, Ford Haneca, Haidyn and baby Clayton Alexson (due this month).
A private family funeral will take place at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home in Superior, Wisconsin on Friday, December 4, 2020 and public graveside service will follow at the Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery in Maple, Wisconsin at 1:00 pm, for those individuals who are interested in attending.
