Sharon L. Sullivan

Sharon L. Sullivan, 78, lifelong area resident, died Saturday, August 15, 2020 at her home in Solon Springs, WI.

She was born in Superior, May 27, 1942, the daughter of Harold and Angeline (Coppens) Willcocks.

She was united in marriage to Robert Sullivan, June 3, 1982, and they celebrated thirty-four years of marriage before his passing in 2017.

Sharon worked for the Board of Education and the Superior School District for twenty-two years before her retirement. Prior to that, she owned and operated Retzer’s Grocery Store with her first husband before his passing.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Superior and their Altar Society, and was formerly a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the former St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Superior. She was also a member of the Superior School District Retired Secretary’s Group, and loved crafting, traveling, reading, walking and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, Randy J. Retzer, Solon Springs, WI, and Michael G. Retzer, Cannon Falls, MN; grandchildren, Alexandra, Michael and Miranda; great-grandson, Hayes; sister, Carol Utpadel, South Range, WI; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends, and foster children.

She is preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Sullivan; first husband and father of her sons, Gene Retzer; and brother, James Willcocks.

Private family services will be held at St. Francis Cemetery in Superior with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski officiating.
