Phyllis E. Sayles

Phyllis (Stoich) Sayles passed away due to complications from dementia on Saturday, May 8th,2021. Born April 21, 1927, she was a lifetime resident of Superior, WI.

She graduated from Superior Central High School in 1945 and Duluth Business University in 1947.

On February 3, 1951, Phyllis Eve Stoich and Raymond Adam Sayles were united in marriage, and they enjoyed the company of each other for over 57 years.

For many years, Phyllis worked at Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Phyllis loved to golf, bowl, play cribbage, and Bingo, kept an immaculate house, and made awesome Potica bread. She loved her dog Loxi.

She is survived by her three sons, Greg (Karen) Sayles of Superior, Gary Sayles of Superior, and Todd (Jean) Sayles of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Brooke, Crystal, Greg Jr, Jenny, and Jordan; great- grandchildren, Weston, Rory, Eleanor, Madilyn and Chase; and nephews, Kerry and Troy.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Raymond “Bud” Sayles; two sisters and their husbands; Joanne and John Marusich, and Marlene and Bob Hulbert and their daughter Tracie; nephew Billy Sayles; and her parents, Eli and Mary Stoich.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Friday, May 21, 2021 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior. Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will officiate.
