Patricia A. ‘Patsy’ Sislo

Patricia Ann Sislo, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 11, 2021, surrounded by her family at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth, MN, from complications of Covid-19.

Patricia (Patsy) was born in Superior, WI on September 20, 1939, the daughter of Charles and Theresa (Gella) Dembroski. She married James Sislo on December 14, 1957, nearly celebrating 64 years of marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Charles Jr. and Richard.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Jim of Superior; children, LouAnn (Scott) Stariha of Englewood, FL, Steven (Paula) Sislo of Superior, and Brian (Karen) Sislo of Superior; grandchildren Danielle (Oak) Plested, Brooke (Dave) Baker, Lindsey (Wes) Kilgore, Megan (Tate) Eliason, Matthew (Karen) Sislo, Chris (Jamie) Sislo, Shawn (Carolina) Sislo, Bethany (Josh) Huray, Scott (Meghan) Sislo and Mike (Tara Gushulak) Sislo; twenty-nine great grandchildren; brothers, James, Robert (Diane), John, Ronald (Joyce) and Donald (Linda) Dembroski; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

While Patsy was an avid reader, a talented artist, good bowler, and a wonderful cook, she will mostly be remembered by her warm personality and her desire to spend quality time with her family and loved ones. She was quick witted, loved to laugh, and enjoyed relaxing conversations. Patricia was always ready to deliver a new joke and even more eager to laugh at the retelling of an old joke from a youngster like it was the first time she ever heard it. She spent countless hours in basketball gyms, hockey rinks, baseball, and football fields, and many school and church programs, supporting and cheering on her family. She loved playing cards as that hobby transitioned from playing for “serious” money with her brothers to passing around the penny jar to spot the buy-in for a broke great-grandchild to play Go Fish with her. Patricia was an integral part of the growth and stability of Central Sheet Metal, supporting her husband Jim in the office for many years. Prior to that she worked as a nurse’s aide at nursing homes.

Patsy will be dearly missed by all who knew her and remembered as a wife, mother, sister, aunt, gramma, great gramma and friend, who gave of herself and loved so many.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 20th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Shawn Sislo officiating. A private family burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts of remembrance can be made to the Salvation Army Christmas Red Kettle Campaign. A charity that was extra dear to Patsy’s heart, donations can be mailed to the Salvation Army, 916 Hughitt Ave., Superior, WI 54880.
