Olive “Ollie” Kruse
Olive “Ollie” Marie (Hanson) Kruse passed away peacefully at her home on Fish Lake (Windom, MN), on September 9, 2021, surrounded by her family, at the age of 81 years. She was born on February 14, 1940, in Sisseton, SD, to Olaf Martin and Mary (Rowe) Hanson. The family moved to Minnesota and Olive graduated from Delavan High School in the class of 1958.
On November 12, 1960, Ollie married Ronald Kruse in Winnebago, MN. The marriage was blessed with four children, Michael, Wade, Kari and Aimee.
The couple lived in South St. Paul, MN, where she was employed at Armor & Co Credit Union. In 1961, they moved to Okabena, MN, where she work for the Okabena Public School District. In 1966, Ronnie was drafted in the Army. He was stationed in Germany, where Olive joined him. They travelled extensively in Europe. They lived in Okabena, Windom and Superior, Wisconsin, until retirement in 2006 from the City of Superior Police Department. After retirement, the couple moved back to Windom, where Ollie enjoyed traveling, cooking (but no baking!), playing cards, casinos, going to flea markets and garage sales. Ollie and Ronnie traveled south during the winter months to Bullhead City, AZ and Laughlin, NV. She loved visiting family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
Ollie was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She was the chair of the Blood Mobile for many years, a Girl Scout leader, bowled on a bowling league in Windom, and was the busy mom of four kids.
Ollie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronnie; four children, Michael (Mia) Kruse of Bloomington, MN; Wade (Mary) Kruse of Leyota, MN; Kari (Randy) Sartori of Lonsdale, MN; and Aimee (Khamsy) Kruse-Sayavong of Windom, MN; nine grandchildren, Andrew & Sydney Sartori; Tylor, London, and Suchin Kruse; John Pattee; James Khane, Damian Khane and Cody Buchin; four great-grandchildren, Colton, Ty, Owen and Katherine; one sister, Rosemary Wendland of rural Jeffers, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, Mary & Olaf Hanson; brothers, Burnell Hanson and Donald Hanson; sister Beverly Jean Hanson.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held on Monday, Sept 13th, 2021, at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Windom, with Pastor Paul Sajban officiating.
