Kevin R. Lohman

Kevin R. Lohman, 58, lifelong resident of Superior, WI, currently of South Range, passed away at home with the love of his family and friends surrounding him, following a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.

Kevin was born on April 1, 1964 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Superior to Lucille (Kennan-Lohman) Sullivan and Richard Lohman. Kevin was the 6th of 7 children. Kevin wore several career hats over the course of his short life, most of which led to lifelong friends and cherished memories. Kevin will be remembered for his love of bowling that started with Waletzko Lanes and Allouez Bowl. Kevin built an expansive knowledge in the bowling industry, especially with the machines, which allowed him several opportunities for work and the gift of passing the love of the sport to his youngest daughters Lexie and Carlie.

Kevin enjoyed time spent and memories made while camping, bowling, playing softball, watching dirt track racing and road trips. Man, he loved a road trip! All of which he spent with his family and close friends. But the most important thing to him in life were his daughters. He loved watching them learn and grow into beautiful, courageous, compassionate and hardworking leaders in their sports, jobs and communities. All will carry on Kevin’s legacy of honesty, accountability and genuine appreciation of the opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends. He was always supportive in whatever path they were traveling and very rarely missed a recital, game, tournament or event any of his daughters participated in.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sharon “Sherry” (Gronski), daughters Lexie and Carlie Lohman, Kendra (Jack Hegge) Lohman, bonus granddaughter Ariana Hegge. His siblings Michael (Sandy) Lohman, Melanie Brown, Scott and Nadine Lohman, and his parents Lucille (Lohman) Sullivan and Richard (Debra) Lohman. Mother-in-law MaryAnn Gronski and brother-in law Robbie Gronski and sister-in-law Kathy (Doug) Hubbard. His first wife Polly (Merrill) Lohman and former mother-in law Aine Merrill. His is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a generous number of good friends that will forever be cherished.

Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents, brother Steven, sister LaVaughn and fathers-in-law Bob Gronski and Michael Merrill-who we know met him with open arms in his final resting place. Just imagine the conversations they are all having!

Kevin was loved and will never be forgotten by those especially closest to him as he instilled so much of himself in all of us. His humor, quick wit and infectious chuckle will be missed by all who knew him.
