Heidi (Morrow) Rekstad

Heidi (Morrow) Rekstad, 46, passed away on April 30th, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth with her loving family by her side.

Heidi was born on January 13th, 1976 in Duluth. She graduated from SSHS in 1994 and attended UMD and UWS. Heidi loved reading, learning and had a gift for languages. She was fluent in French and Spanish by the time she graduated high school. Heidi also had an exceptional talent for working with young children. As an adult, she ran a daycare for several years. She taught the children Spanish, manners, kindness, academics and how to have fun. Wherever Heidi went, children were drawn to her warmth and fun. Her caring ways were multiplied many times over with her own children, Elijah and Satori, whom she loved with all her heart.

Heidi was a kind and gentle person to all. She will be remembered as a true beauty – inside and out. She loved her family, friends, and this beautiful Earth. Heidi always worked hard to make holidays and events special for other people. She had a passion for Halloween and all things spooky and fun. She found beauty and goodness in everything and everyone.

Heidi was loved and she will be truly missed by her son Elijah, daughter Satori, her former husband Rocky, her mother Char Morrow, Godmother Dawn Nelson, half-sister Stacy Luckey, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her South Superior neighborhood friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the ICU at St. Mary’s for their care of Heidi at the end of her life.

A celebration of life will be held at the Oliver Town Hall on June 11th from 12-3pm. Heidi was the sunshine of our lives and we will miss her forever.
