Dorothy Charlene Johnson, 94 of Superior passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
She was born March 3, 1928, in Fredric, WI to Carl and Rose Anderson.
Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of Superior Central High School. She was the owner-operator of a jewelry store for many years. Dorothy was a proud member of the Confederated Salish and Kootanai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation of Montana.
Dorothy always loved to have her family around her. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening. Dorothy was known for her quilts and made sure each of her family members received a special quilt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Evelyn Vashaw, sister in-law Lucille Johnson, brother’s in-law, Reuben Johnson, Frank Vashaw, Eugene Ovesen and Fred Larson.
Survivors include her husband of 74 years, David; her children, Charlene, David C., and Eugene (Jayne); her sister, Beverly Ovesen; sister in-law, LaVern Larson; her grandchildren, Joseph, Jennifer (Corey), Jana (Jeremy), Shawn (Sarah), Chris (Christi), Tami, Chase (Holly), Tyler (Ali) and Karen (Kevin); 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A private funeral service will be held with interment in Greenwood Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
