Bruce W. Bachand, 80, lifelong resident of Superior, died Saturday, September 3, 2022, at New Perspective Senior Living in Cloquet.

Bruce was born in Superior on August 26, 1942, the son of Vernon and Vera (Forest) Bachand.

He and Cherie were married on October 25, 1963, and they enjoyed 55 years of unconditional love until her passing in 2018.

Bruce and Cherie owned and operated Bachand Painting for over 50 years. They worked hard to service their clients and friendships through investing in each and every one of them. Bruce lived by the notion that a day with nothing accomplished was a day wasted. He was an avid collector with thousands of antiques that he loved to show in his beautiful home. He and Cherie enjoyed going to auctions and estate sales looking for the next treasure.

Bruce showed his love of his family by investing in their interests. He was a mentor and a coach to his sons when it came to their business and sporting endeavors. He and Cherie enjoyed spending time with their family. You could always find them in the stands watching their sons and grandchildren’s sporting events.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cherie, and sister Nancy Mough.

Bruce is survived by his two sons, Corey Bachand and Adam Bachand both of Superior; grandchildren, Aiden, Blake, Maddy, Brady, Grace, Aaron, and Annie; and brother, Vernon Bachand.

Following Bruce’s wishes, a private burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.

If desired, memorials may be made in Bruce’s name to the Humane Society of Douglas County.
