Donald F. Kallberg, age 91, of Superior, WI, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Middle River Health & Rehabilitation Center in South Range, WI.
Donald Fredrick Kallberg was born in Duluth, MN, the son of Einer(Fred) and Lela (Mc Enelly) Kallberg. Don graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1946. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and is a Korean War veteran. On April 18, 1952 Don married Delores Elaine Tingstad in Duluth, MN. Don earned a degree in Accounting from UMD in 1962. He joined the Air National Guard in 1955 and served for 33 years, retiring as a Senior Master Sargent. Don was employed by the WI Dept of Revenue as a Field Auditor for 23 years retiring in 1986. Don served on the Superior School Board, Douglas County Board, and with the Superior Township as Treasurer. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Pattison Park Bushwackers. He enjoyed travel with Delores to Europe and Hawaii. He was a member of Hawthorne Assembly of God church and volunteered with the Salvation Army. Don was a born again Christian and honored the Word of God during his entire life.
Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Delores. Six children: Donald Samuel (Beth) Kallberg, Susan (Brad) Moore-Johnson, Daniel Kallberg, David (Bonnie) Kallberg, Joel (Esther) Kallberg, and Judy (Darryl) Kallberg-Pitcher; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two sisters, Joanne Carlson, Janis Goude; five brothers, Chuck, Daniel, Gene, Mark, and Clint Kallberg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers; Roger, James and Duane Kallberg.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Hawthorne Assembly of God Church, visitation at 10am. Military honors will be accorded by the State of Wisconsin Military Funeral Honors Program. Interment will be at Northern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
