Samuel Virgil Plunkett, 92, long time Cloverland resident died Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Cedar Ridge Assisted Living.
He was born December 10, 1926 to Samuel and Marie Plunkett.
He married Doris Holm on September 30, 1950 and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
After farming for many years, he and his wife enjoyed traveling. He also enjoyed gardening and became known as “Grandpa Tomato”. He was a Brule Lions Club member and in the area breakfast club.
He was preceded in death by his wife and three brothers.
He is survived by six daughters - Diane O’Hara (Phoenix, AZ), Arlene Cadotte (Superior, WI), Jaunita (Joe) Launderville (Redgranite, WI), Gail (Ken) Olson (Poplar, WI), Patricia (Russ) Sharpe (Hawthorne, WI), Kimberly (Tim) Johnson (Lakeside, WI); and thee sons - Sam Plunkett (Oulu, WI), Paul (Theresa) Plunkett (Superior, WI), and Don Plunkett (Amnicon, WI); and two brothers - Rolland (Joan) Plunkett (Superior, WI), Dennis (Barb) Plunkett (Virginia); and 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation and Mass will be at St Anthony’s Church in Lake Nebagamon, WI, Saturday, October 19, 2019. Visitation 10am, Mass at 11am with luncheon to follow.
