Mary Lou Conley

Mary Lou Conley, 88, of Superior, former longtime South Range resident, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 14, 2020 at Superior Health and Rehabilitation Center from complications of COVID-19.

She was born in Wascott, WI, September 13, 1932, the daughter of Fred and Mildred (Zach) Anderson.

Mary Lou graduated as the Salutatorian of her class from the former Central High School and went on to attend Superior Business College.

She was united in marriage to James Conley December 6, 1952 in Superior, and they celebrated sixty-three years of marriage before his passing in 2016.

Mary Lou was the Town Clerk for the Town of Oakland for many years. She was also co-owner and operator of the family business, Range Builders Supply.

Mary Lou was a member of Country Peace Presbyterian Church, P.T.A., and T.O.P.S. She loved reading and cooking, but her family was most important to her.

Mary Lou is survived by her sons, Michael (Patty) Conley, Town of Oakland, Pat (Deanne) Conley, Town of Oakland, Brian (Cynthia Michalski) Conley, Town of Oakland, Greg (Mary Tennis) Conley, Duluth, MN, Jay (Allison) Conley, Town of Oakland; eleven grandchildren; Michael Conley Junior, Joel (Carrie) Conley, Sara (William) Turcotte, Dana (Kyle) Bukovich, Shawn (Alexandra Delvis) Conley, Kassie (Seth Saunders) Conley, Lucy Tennis Anderson, Bennett Conley, Miles Conley, Xavier Conley, and Violet Conley, Nine great-grandchildren; Thomas Conley, Toren Conley, Cora Conley, Adrianna Turcotte, Simon Turcotte, Sawyer Turcotte, Andrew Turcotte, Hunter Bukovich, and Jackson Saunders. Sister-in-law, Joan Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Jim, Mary Lou is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Conley; grandson, Alistair “A.J.” Conley; her parents; brother, James Anderson; and an infant brother, David Anderson.

Due to current restrictions on group gatherings, a private family service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
