Mary L. Makowsky

Mary Lou Makowsky, 59, of Superior, passed away Wednesday February 3, 2021, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospice, Duluth.

She was born March 30, 1961 in Superior, daughter of Elmer and Shirleyan (Parker) Erickson.

Mary worked many years as a bartender in Superior and most recently as a housekeeping supervisor for Holiday Inn Express, Superior.

Some of her interests included volleyball, pool, darts, karaoke, barbeques, and her pet dogs.

Preceding her in death were her father, Elmer Erickson; brother, William Erickson; and sister, Margaret Jorgenson.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca Ann Krause (Jennifer D. Aune), South Range, Stacy Lynn Laurvick, Superior, and William John Laurvick (Jessica James), Superior; grandchildren, Lyle, Jasper, Sierra and Lily; mother, Shirleyan Erickson, South Range; siblings, Elizabeth Cross (Michael), Superior, Ann Nelson (Martin), Superior, Joella Lindquist (Kevin), Foxboro, Charles Erickson (Cathy), South Range, and John Erickson (Patty), South Range; many nieces and nephews; and pet dog, Olaf.

As per Mary’s wishes, there will be a private celebration of life, at a later date.
