Mary Jo Stupak

Mary Jo Stupak, 90, longtime Foxboro resident, died Monday, October 12, 2020 at Encompass Health Care surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 10, 1930 in Battle Creek, MI to Carl and Georgianna “Josie” Cross.

Mary Jo graduated from high school in Battle Creek, MI. In 1972, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior receiving her BA in Education, Master’s Degree of Science Education and Community Psychology Science and Education Degree.

Mary Jo loved working as a Psycho Therapist for HRC Mental Health Center for many years.

Mary Jo and her husband John were married November 6, 1948 and celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage before his passing in 2007.

Mary Jo was a longtime active member of St. William’s Catholic Church where she served as organist for many years. She also taught school at Cathedral School and was a member of the Superior Singers and Tri State Crafters. After retirement she continued at Cathedral as a Foster Grandparent.

Mary Jo is survived by one daughter, Carol Stupak, Superior, WI; and five sons, John Jr. (Libby), Eau Claire, WI, Joe, Town of Superior, WI, Mike (Barb), Wascott, WI, Steve (Gina), Superior, WI, and Curt (Kathy), Red Wing, MN; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Georgianna “Josie” Cross; one sister, Marge Ostezeski; her husband, John L. Stupak; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Stupak.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses and Patches from Encompass for the love and care they gave our mother during this difficult time.

Due to current pandemic a memorial celebration of life will be held at a later date and a private graveside service will be held in the spring.
