Loren Carroll Johnson

Loren Carroll Johnson, 66, formerly of Poplar, passed away on March 27, 2020 after a brave battle with cancer in New Braunfels, TX where he currently lived.
Loren was born on June 8, 1953 to Carroll and Phyllis Johnson in Poplar, Wisconsin. Graduating from Northwestern High School with the class of 1971, he then went on to study diesel mechanics at WITC (Superior Vocational School). In 1974 he married his high school sweetheart, Delores Gustafson. They would have celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this coming June.
After graduation, Loren worked at Cummins Diesel in Duluth, MN where he remained for 7 years. In 1981 Loren started working alongside his father and brother mining in Central, Alaska until 1990. He later co-founded Johnson Exploration in 1994 in the Yukon Territory, Canada where he worked until retirement in 2016.
Loren was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was deeply proud of his children and was unwaveringly supportive of them.
Loren was also a passionate outdoorsman and could often be found feeding deer in his backyard, at the shooting range, or working on a new project with his wife. He was a jack-of-all-trades and loved the challenge of fixing things.
Anyone who knew Loren knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for.
