Kathe J. Birch

Kathe J. (Kvisler) Birch, 75, Superior resident, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Essentia Health in Duluth, MN.

She was born on October 3, 1945 in Duluth, MN to George and Esther (Bowden) Kvisler.

Kathe graduated Central High School in 1963. She then graduated W.I.T.I. (now W.I.T.C.) in 1964. She retired in 2010 from the WI Tourist Information Center, a job she loved.

Kathe is survived by her brother, David Kvisler (Kerstin) of Sweden, three children; Jon E. Birch, Jason Birch (Kimberly Drain) and Traci Birch-Schnell (Richard Schnell); two grandsons, Gregory Birch and Daniel Schnell.

Kathe is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband (Gregory L. Birch) and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

Kathe loved being a PTA Leader, Girl Scouts Troop Leader, her monthly game sessions with her friends, being actively involved in her church (United Presbyterian Church – Superior, WI) and spending time with her family and friends. One of Kathe’s greatest achievements was co-authoring a Romance Trilogy that was published in 2011; Doomed Passage: Book Three in the “Passage” Saga.

Due to the pandemic, a burial service and celebration of life will be held in the Spring/Summer of 2021.
