Helen Glodowski

Helen Glodowski, 90, died peacefully in her sleep on June 26, 2019 at Encompass Assisted Living in Superior. She was born on December 19, 1928 in Milwaukee. In her words, Helen “made the wisest decision of her life” on May 28, 1955, when she married Donald “Don” Glodowski. Helen and Don loved each other deeply and celebrated 43 years of marriage before his passing in 1998. They spent most of their years together raising two kids and working in Milwaukee. Upon retirement, they relocated to Superior.

Helen holds a special place in the hearts of her family and friends. Her ability to overcome difficulties and embrace change, always with a positive, can-do outlook, has been an inspiration, reminding us all to live in the moment, be grateful, happy for what we have and to love family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; her siblings and their spouses, Steve (Aggie) Poliak, Mary (Sonny) Riesmeyer, and Millie (Frank) Tomasovic.

She is survived by her children, Gail (Tom) Archambault, Gordon, WI, and Jim (Erin) Glodowski, Lincoln, CA; grandsons, Kevin and Brian Glodowski and Tom, Jr. (Tiffany) Archambault; great-granddaughters, Payton and Briana Archambault; nieces and nephews, Bob, Laurie, Jane, Joanne, John, Pudy and Janet; and her special birthday club friends, Mary Ann, Sally, Annie, Marjo, Judy, Ruth, MaryJo and Carol.

Per Helen’s wishes, no services will be held.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior.
