Greg Michael Carlson 53, Superior resident, died Thursday, July 2, 2020 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth MN.

He was born in Superior, October 20, 1966, the son of Dale “Gubba” Carlson and Patricia Ann (Bukowski) Carlson.

Greg graduated from Superior Senior High School, class of 1985. He owned and operated Strikers Bar in Superior for many years.

Greg will always be remembered for his big heart, caring nature and never ending smile. He loved his family, going golfing with his dad and just spending time with his mom.

Greg was an avid sports fan. He played hockey, baseball and football and he loved the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins.

He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his beloved parents, Dale “Gubba” Carlson and Patricia Ann (Bukowski) Carlson, Superior; sisters, Cathy Currie and Jody Peterson, both of Superior; nieces and nephews, Megan Currie, Lindsay (Nick) Madryga, Jacie Olson (Todd Carlson), their daughter Arielle, Jordynn Olson (Brandon Anderson), Chase Peterson, her son Elijah, Torie Peterson and Matthew Peterson; and his best friend and longtime K-9 companion, Archie.

Greg was preceded in death by his Grandma Marie “Nanny” Garrity and brother in law, Tom “Nate” Currie.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services for Greg will be held at a later date.
