Gerald (Jay) Lanigan

Gerald (Jay) Charles Lanigan passed away peacefully at home on April 20, 2021 at the age of 75. Jay was born in Wausau, WI on March 13, 1946. After graduating from Wausau High School in 1964 he joined the Navy and served in Vietnam. Jay and Marian (Raduege) were married in June of 1986. He retired from Superwood in Duluth in 2007. After retiring he spent many weekends traveling to wherever Marian happened to be working. Enjoying several long weekends in San Diego, San Francisco, Dallas, and Atlanta. There were also 2 trips to Disneyland in there.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Jerry Lanigan. He is survived by his wife, Marian, Superior, WI, daughter Erin Lanigan-Botten, Minong, WI, grandchildren Keaton, Zachary, and Emily, his brother Todd, Eau Claire, and sister Shannon, Stevens Point and several nieces and nephews.

Jay could fix anything and build anything. He once showed Marian a picture of a railing in a magazine and asked if she liked it. After she said yes, he built it. He had a big heart. Loved his family, especially grandchildren and the Newfoundland dogs, Ben and Sadie. He tolerated the cats.
