Frank S. Hudacek

Frank S. Hudacek, 89, of Superior, died Wednesday, October 13th, 2021 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.

He was born August 24th, 1932 in Superior, son of Stephen and Mary (Koscakova) Hudacek.

Frank proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean war and was honorably discharged following his service.

A short time after being discharged from the Army Frank met Gloria Parteka and thus started their 60 year love story that created 4 wonderful boys who they taught to be loving and caring. We know Frank and Gloria are reunited in Heaven to continue the ‘rest of their story’ along with their grandson, Daniel.

His work history started at U.S. Steel, then Benson Electric and retired from U.W.S.

Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and taught them all he knew about those skills. He also enjoyed gardening and had one of the most beautiful weed free, straight rowed gardens. He enjoyed playing games with his grandchildren, Danny and Amanda, and we all knew that anyone who could play Monopoly with them for 3 hours or so was definitely one devoted family man.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Gloria in 2014; grandson, Daniel Hudacek in 1998; sister, Irene Puchalla; and brothers, John, Andrew, Stephen and Anthony Hudacek.

He is survived by his sons, Robert (Lisa) Hudacek, James Hudacek, Donald Hudacek, and Todd (Tammy) Hudacek, all of Superior; granddaughter, Amanda (Matt) Peterson, Superior; great-grandchildren, Lillian Peterson and Daniel Peterson; brothers, Joseph (Susan) Hudacek, Superior, and Mark (Linda) Hudacek, Superior; sisters, Rose Stenstrom, Minneapolis, and Mary Hudacek, Superior; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday October 23rd, 2021 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Superior. Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will be the celebrant.

Active pallbearers will be Bob Hudacek, Jim Hudacek, Don Hudacek, Todd Hudacek, Matt Peterson and David Hudacek. Honorary pallbearers will be Lily Peterson and Danny Peterson.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.

Frank’s family would like to thank the staff at Villa Marina for their care of Frank over the past 2 1/2 years.

We would also like to say a big thank you to nurses Taylor, Grace, and Sophie at St. Mary’s Hospital 6th floor for their compassionate and wonderful care of Frank during his brief hospital stay prior to his transfer back to hospice at Villa Marina.

Revelation 21:4 – “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
