Esther C. Kildahl

Esther C. Kildahl, 94, longtime Superior resident, died Friday, August 28, 2020 at Harmony House II in Superior, WI. She was born on March 8, 1926 in Superior, WI to William and Eleanor (Hendricks) Carlson.

Esther was the bookkeeper for the family business Carlson Fuel and Trucking for many years and previously worked at Westlund Hardware.

She attended several area churches, most recently she attended Darrow Road Wesleyan Church for several years. She loved to garden, go to the salon, sew, knit, crochet and bake. She also enjoyed playing cards, dice games, and a trip to the casino. She also loved her cats.

Esther is survived by her son, Bruce (Carol) Kildahl; son-in-law, Mike Grube; grandson, Joseph (Stephanie) Grube; granddaughters, Laura (Chris) Colegrove and Amy Bell; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy (Tim) Larson; her relatives in Sweden; and special family friends, Ruby Lien and Travis Penney.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Eleanor Carlson, husband James, daughter Julie Grube, brothers Henry and Martin and sisters Emma, Lilly and Eleanor.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone at Harmony House II which made it her second home and treated her like family. And thank you to Essential Hospice for all their care and support.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4022 S. Darrow Road, Superior, WI, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service with Pastor Mark Holmes officiating.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Superior, WI.
