Erma C. Gaynor

Erma C. Gaynor, 94, lifelong Superior resident, died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center in Superior.
She was born on Jan. 19, 1922 in Superior to Joseph and Nathalia (Viaene) Van Landschoot. She was the last member of the Joseph Van Landschoot family.
Erma attended St. Anthony, Franklin, East High School and WI Vocational schools.
She was employed as a clerk for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 31 years.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Parish, Belgium Club Auxiliary, Wildflower Garden Club and Superior Council of Garden Clubs. She loved to travel, garden, read, knit and have parties in the basement.
Erma is survived by one son, Dennis (Saralynn) Gaynor; one daughter, Deidre (Brian) Gaynor-Peterson; special niece Betty Heytens who was like a sister and special friend; caregiver and special friend, Bob Seacotte; three grandchildren, Tim and Bryon Gaynor and Kelly (Kent) Bergum, 10 great-grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews who were all special and very kind to her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Peter in 1986; her parents and six sisters, Rose Ruthgeerts, Amelia Paggen, Christine Thompson, Philmena Van Landschoot, Clara De Bock and Marie Van Landschoot; three brothers Louis, Al and Tony Van Landschoot; a grandson Patrick Gaynor; great-granddaughter Noa Bergum; and nephews Joseph Ruthgeerts and Donald Van Landschoot.
Visitation: 10:30 until the 11:30 a.m. Memorial Mass on Friday, April 8 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Adam Laski as celebrant.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Erma's name to CASDA or the Boys and Girls Club in Superior.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
