David “Dave” H. Stannard

David “Dave” H. Stannard, 81, Superior resident, died Thursday, November 12, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born on February 6, 1939 in Superior, WI, the son of James and Betty (Sweeney) Stannard.

Dave served his country in the United States Army and National Guard. He drove school bus for the Superior School District for twenty-five years. He was the co-chairman of the 4th of July Parade Committee for twenty-two years. He enjoyed the parade and all the people. He also was a city councilman for the City of Superior. Dave was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

He married Frances Kozlowski on May 16, 1987 at United Methodist Church and they celebrated thirty-three years of marriage.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Missy and brothers and sisters.

Dave is survived by his wife, Fran; one daughter, Kathy (Andrew) Czarnecki, Cudahy, WI; three sons, Robert Carlson, Daniel (Kelly) Carlson and Bonar Carlson, all of Superior, WI; five grandchildren, Ashley Carlson, Shawnde (Robert) Mascarenas, Brittney and Kody Carlson and Isabelle Czarnecki; two great-grandchildren, Martin Osberg and Haylee Mascarenas and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Due to current pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
