Barbara S. Seamans

Beloved mother, daughter and friend Barbara Sue Seamans, 74, passed June 11, 2021 in Sun City, Arizona.

Barbara was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents Constance and Irving Grossman on October 4, 1946. She attended high school at Superior Central High School in Superior, Wisconsin. She met Sherman Seamans of Franklin Park, Illinois and they married in Duluth and become long term active members of their community. She worked and volunteered at the Superior YMCA for many years. She enjoyed attending Temple Israel, was a lifelong dog lover, an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons Bradley Seamans and his partner Jack, and Bruce Seamans and his partner Barbara; her brother Harold Grossman and his wife Ann and their children, many cousins and extended family around the United States.

Barb was a wonderful and caring person that was devoted to her family and loved to travel with family and friends. Her last trip was with her beloved son Brad to the Grand Canyon. Barb genuinely loved people and enjoyed life. She loved being in the Red Hats Society in Sun City, Arizona. She opened her heart and home to family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 North 19th Street, Superior, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 11 AM. Rabbi Steinberg of Temple Israel will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Superior Hebrew Cemetery, Highway 105 and Cemetery Row in South Superior.

Donations can be made in her name to the Wickenburg Humane Society in Wickenburg, AZ. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many family members and friends that shared her life both in the Duluth/Superior area and Sun City, Arizona.
