Robert W. Thatcher

Robert W. Thatcher, 89, of Superior, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospice in Duluth.

He was born in Webb Lake, WI, on May 12, 1929, the son of Maurice and Ella Thatcher.

Bob served honorably with the Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a milk man for Arrowhead Dairy before owning and operating Thatcher's Service Station since 1963.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and playing cards. He also played basketball, enjoyed square dancing and driving his Astro Van. He loved being at his lake home in Lake Nebagamon. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bob was a member of the local VFW, American Legion, Elks Lodge, and Civil Air Patrol.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Thatcher; and several furry friends.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kay; children, Lynn (George) Lehman of Lake Nebagamon, Ralph (Kathy) Thatcher of Merritt Island, FL, Debbie (Butch) Tendrup of Superior, Jay Thatcher of Superior, and Dawn (Ed) Anderson of Superior; grandchildren, Dr. Vance (Dr. Julia) Lehman, Bryce (Julie) Lehman, Luke (Amber) Thatcher, Dr. Lisa (JG) Lantigua, Hans (Sarah) Tendrup, and Martina (John McCormick) Tendrup, Colton (Teri Thompson) Thatcher, Carly Thatcher, Erick Anderson, and Nick Anderson; great-grandchildren, Elise, Emma, and Llyra Lehman, and Chase, Liam, Harper, and Quinn Tendrup; and brothers, Bill Floyd' Thatcher and Jean Thatcher.

Visitation will be on Saturday Nov. 10th from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Faith United Methodist Church. Rev. Joel Certa-Werner will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors accorded by Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.

If desired, memorials in Bob's name may be made to the Douglas County Humane Society.
