Laurence "Larry" A. Zoldos

Laurence "Larry" A. Zoldos, 64, Superior resident, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Larry was born on January 16, 1954 in Ashland County, WI to Andrew and Jewell (Thomas) Zoldos. He lived in the Superior area for forty-three years.

He graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1972 and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute in 1977. He worked as a sailor on the Great Lakes for several years, Superior Lidgerwood Mundy for twenty-one years as a machine operator and Dunbar's, Inc. for ten years as a salesman. Larry married Paula Mihalik on September 11, 1998 and they celebrated nineteen years of marriage.

Larry was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local Lodge 1502, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Sault Ste. Marie Band of Chippewa Indians.

He had a great love of music and played bass guitar for several bands in the area. He loved fishing, bike riding, gardening and cooking. Larry always kept a very positive attitude over the last four and half years saying he was happy to have this time to be with the people he knew and loved. Larry will be missed so much by his friends and family words cannot express. We have all been blessed by having Larry in our lives.

He is preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Jewell and infant sister Marie.

Larry is survived by his wife, Paula; four daughters, Jessie Marie (Michael) Ruuska, Hibbing, MN and Laura Ann Defoe, Jennifer Lynn and Angela Marie Michalski, all of Superior, WI; seven grandchildren, Erik, Evan and Ethan Defoe, Ivy Ruuska, Maison Wiberg, Olivia and Nora Rose Quam; one brother, Brian A. (Susan) Zoldos, Ashland, WI; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 8, 2018 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior and continue until the 12:00 PM Service of Remembrance with Kirstin Batchelor officiating.
