The Nebagamon Lake Association is sponsoring a public meeting Thursday to allow Department of Natural Resources biologists to talk about a new fisheries management plan being developed for the popular Douglas County lake.
DNR Fisheries biologist Zach Lawson will headline the meeting set to run from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Lake Nebagamon Auditorium, 11596 Waterfront Drive.
Lawson will talk about an ongoing angler survey being conducted to gauge public interest in the Lake Nebagamon fishery. That survey will wrap up in October, Lawson said, and be part of the information used to draft a new management plan that will include both what kind of fishing anglers want to see and what is biologically sustainable in the lake.
That new management plan will be crafted over the next year with a draft version ready for public review by late 2022, Lawson noted.
The meeting also will include time for questions at the end.
“Your participation here will help guide and support future management efforts such as stocking, fishing regulations and habitat work on Lake Nebagamon,’’ Lawson noted.
