Superior man sentenced for child sex assaults
A Superior man already serving a federal prison sentence for human trafficking will spend an
additional 10 years in state prison for child sex assault.
Eugene Wearing, 58, pleaded guilty in Douglas County Circuit Court on Feb. 5 to three counts of second-degree sexual assault of a child. Wearing was sentenced June 22 to 10 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision, concurrent to each other but consecutive to the federal sentence. Four additional counts second-degree sexual assault of a child, trafficking of a child and two counts of use a computer to facilitate a child sex crime were dismissed, but read in for sentencing.
According to the criminal complaint, Wearing had sex with a 15-year-old friend of the family. He came up with a "business idea" to set her up as a prostitute and had her practice on him numerous times by using intimidation and manipulation.
