DULUTH — Appointments for the updated COVID-19 vaccine booster will be available at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, the Minnesota Department of Health announced Wednesday. Booster vaccines will be administered starting Sunday.
The updated COVID vaccine boosters include components of the original virus strain and the omicron variant, making them bivalent boosters. The DECC will have the Pfizer bivalent booster, which is authorized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use as a single booster dose in individuals age 12 and older.
The DECC will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays and noon to 7 p.m. Mondays.
Along with state-run vaccination sites, pharmacies are making appointments available for eligible Minnesotans to get their updated boosters. Minnesota health care systems, local public health and tribal health agencies, and other health care providers are also prepared to provide the updated booster shots and will have appointments available as supply allows.
These boosters will continue to be free for all Minnesotans at state and private sites, regardless of insurance status.
