Wisconsin's seven-day average of positive COVID-19 cases hit its lowest point since late December on Wednesday, Jan. 20, the state Department of Health Services reported.

The figure, which measures the average number of new cases per day over the previous week, dropped to its lowest point since September on Dec. 26, 2020, at 1,882 cases. The average increased to 2,908 cases on Jan. 10, but has been steadily dropping ever since.

Wednesday it reached its lowest point since December with 1,807 cases. An overall decrease in the seven-day average of positive cases indicates the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the state is also going down, according to DHS.
