The COVID-19 rapid testing site at the University of Wisconsin-Superior will be closed from Dec. 23 through Jan. 3 due to the holidays.
Testing at the temporary site will resume Monday, Jan. 4, according to a news release from UW-Superior. The testing hours are 2-6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The site is open to any Minnesota or Wisconsin resident at least 5 years old. It's located in the Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium of the Marcovich Wellness Center, 1810 Catlin Ave., Superior. It offers antigen tests that provide results within 15 minutes as well as PCR, or nasal swab, confirmation tests for those who need them.
People do not need to be experiencing symptoms in order to get tested. Registration is required; go to doineedacovid19test.com.
The testing site is a partnership between the UW System and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. A UW System official said they originally estimated the site, which opened in early November, would operate for about six weeks, or until mid-December.
