Six counties reported new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, Sept. 21, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

Douglas County reported 12 new cases, DHS said. Burnett County recorded two new cases, while Ashland, Bayfield, Rusk and Washburn counties each added one.

DHS reduced Price County's overall case count by one Monday. Officials have said they will fix errors in the data as they find them.

The new cases in Northwestern Wisconsin were among 1,271 reported throughout the state Monday, DHS said, bringing the total to 102,498. Of the tests reported, 18.7% were positive. The 7-day average for positive tests was 16.4%.

Two additional people died, putting the overall number of deaths in the state at 1,244, DHS said. Overall, 1% of cases have resulted in death, according to DHS data.

The number of negative tests in the state was 1,337,627, an increase of 5,525 from the day before.

An additional 39 people were hospitalized because of the virus Monday, DHS reported. There are currently 407 Wisconsinites hospitalized because of the virus. Overall, 7% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized. DHS has said it doesn't know the hospitalization history for 36% of people who tested positive.

Monday's report showed that 85% of people who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. That means about 14%, or 14,414 cases, are active in the state.

Douglas County

  • Active cases: 63
  • Deaths: 0
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 390
  • Total negative tests: 7,140

Iron County

  • Active cases: 4
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 136
  • Total negative tests: 1,443

Price County

  • Active cases: 11
  • Deaths: 0
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 51
  • Total negative tests: 2,401

Rusk County

  • Active cases: 14
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 50
  • Total negative tests: 2,201

Sawyer County

  • Active cases: 10
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 195
  • Total negative tests: 4,368

Taylor County

  • Active cases: 38
  • Deaths: 3
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 151
  • Total negative tests: 2,652

Washburn County

  • Active cases: 6
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 92
  • Total negative tests: 2,734
