Douglas County reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, June 30, according to the county health department.

That means the county's overall total has grown by 10 cases since Thursday, June 25. Prior to that, Douglas County had gone nearly three weeks without reporting a new positive case.

Statewide, there were 28,659 positive cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, an increase of 601 cases from the day before, according to the state Department of Health Services . A total of 4.7% of the tests reported came back positive, DHS said. Five of Douglas County's six new cases were not reported in the daily DHS update. It is not unusual for county and state figures to be slightly off because of reporting delays, state health officials have said.

Seven additional people died from COVID-19, leaving the total number of deaths in the state at 784.

The number of negative tests in the state was 539,539 an increase of 12,180 from the day before.

Rusk County

Sawyer County

Taylor County

Taylor County last reported a new case on Sunday, June 28.

Washburn County

• Active cases: 1
• Deaths: 0
• Total cases reported since pandemic began: 4
• Total negative tests: 1,122

Washburn County last reported a positive case of COVID-19 on June 19.
Of the people statewide who have tested positive for the new coronavirus, 12% — or 3,446 people — have been hospitalized because of the virus as of Tuesday. DHS reported that officials don't know the hospitalization history of 8,491 people, or 30%.

Tuesday's report also showed that 79% of those with confirmed cases have recovered from the illness.

Wisconsin's daily testing capacity was 18,434 on Tuesday. An increase in the number of tests being done is one reason for the increase in the number of positive cases. The percentage of positive tests over the last several days was:

• 4.3% on Wednesday, June 24
• 4.1% on Thursday, June 25
• 5.7% on Friday, June 26
• 5.9% on Saturday, June 27
• 7.1% on Sunday, June 28
• 5.3% on Monday, June 29
• 4.7% on Tuesday, June 30

All of Wisconsin's 72 counties have confirmed cases of the illness.
