All 10 counties in Northwestern Wisconsin reported cases from COVID-19 Wednesday, Oct. 14, the state Department of Health Services.
New cases were reported as follows: 13 in Taylor County; 10 in Price County; nine in Douglas County; five each in Bayfield and Sawyer counties; four in Ashland County; three each in Burnett and Iron counties; two in Washburn County; and one in Rusk County.
They were among 3,107 new cases in the state reported Wednesday, pushing the total to 158,578. The percentage of positive cases over the last seven days was 20.3%.
There were 28 additional deaths reported in the state Wednesday, bringing the total to 1,536. Overall, 1% of people who contracted the virus in Wisconsin have died, DHS data shows.
The number of negative tests in the state was 1,568,389, an increase of 11,435 from the day before.

An additional 153 people were hospitalized because of the virus Wednesday. There are currently 959 Wisconsinites hospitalized because of the virus. Overall, about 6% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized.
Wednesday's report also showed that 79% of the people who have tested positive for the virus have recovered. That means 20%, or 31,595 cases, are currently active.
