All 10 counties in Northwestern Wisconsin reported new cases of COVID-19 Monday, Oct. 5, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services .
Price, Sawyer and Taylor counties each reported seven new cases, DHS said. Washburn County added six; Douglas County recorded five; Bayfield and Rusk counties each reported three new cases; and Ashland, Burnett and Iron counties each added two.
They were among 1,696 cases reported in the state Monday, DHS said. The total number of cases in the state was 134,359. The 7-day average for positive tests was 17.3%.
Four additional people died from the virus, putting the total at 1,381. Overall, 1% of people who have contracted the virus in Wisconsin have died, DHS data shows.
The number of negative tests in the state was 1,472,577, an increase of 6,864 from the day before.

An additional 56 people were hospitalized because of the virus Monday, DHS reported. There are currently 714 Wisconsinites hospitalized because of the virus. Overall, 6% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized.
Monday's report showed that 81% of people who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. That means about 18%, or 24,589 cases, are active in the state.
