The seven-day average of positive COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continued to drop over the weekend. On Monday, the figure was 329. The seven-day average of positive cases measures the average number of new cases per day over the previous week. An overall decrease in the seven-day average of positive cases indicates the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the state is also going down, according to DHS.

The number of negative tests in the state was 2,929,818 Monday, an increase of 8,578 since Friday.

An additional 112 people have been hospitalized because of the virus since Friday, bringing the total to 30,667. Overall, 5% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized. Two people each in Douglas and Rusk counties, and one person in Taylor County were among those hospitalized.

Monday's report also showed that 97.9% of the people who have tested positive for the virus have recovered. That means 1%, or 5,819 cases, are currently active.

DHS also reports that 5,052,793 doses of vaccine have been administered by Monday with 2,727,649 Wisconsin residents, 46.8% of the population, receiving at least one dose of vaccine, and 2,384,175 people completing the vaccine series.
