The seven-day average of positive COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin continued to drop. On Friday, the figure was 144. The seven-day average of positive cases measures the average number of new cases per day over the previous week. An overall decrease in the seven-day average of positive cases indicates the number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the state is also going down, according to DHS.

The number of negative tests in the state was 2,950,410 Friday, an increase of 1,565.

An additional 69 people have been hospitalized because of the virus, bringing the total to 32,863 Friday. Only 10 of the hospitalizations have occurred since Wednesday, June 2, according to Friday's report.

Friday's update also showed that 98% of the people who have tested positive for the virus have recovered. That means 1%, or 4,046 cases, are currently active.

DHS also reports that 5,216,241 doses of vaccine have been administered by Friday with 2,808,405 Wisconsin residents, 48.2% of the population, receiving at least one dose of vaccine, and 2,475,509 people completing the vaccine series.
