Bayfield, Douglas, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor and Washburn counties reported new cases of COVID-19 Monday, Aug. 10, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services .
Douglas County reported 13 additional cases, DHS said. Sawyer and Taylor counties recorded two additional cases each, while Bayfield, Price, Rusk and Washburn counties reported one new case each.
Statewide there were a total of 61,061 positive cases of the coronavirus Monday, DHS said, an increase of 507 from the day before. Of the tests reported, 6.2% were positive. The 7-day average for positive tests was 6% Monday.
No additional people died from COVID-19, leaving the total number of deaths in the state at 998.
The number of negative tests in the state was 1,001,402, an increase of 7,660 from the day before.

Washburn County

An additional 31 people were hospitalized because of the virus Monday, DHS reported. Overall, 8.2% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized. DHS has said it doesn't know the hospitalization history for 34% of people who tested positive.
Monday's report showed that 83% of people who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered.
All of Wisconsin's 72 counties have confirmed cases of the illness.
