19 more people test positive for COVID-19 in Northwestern Wisconsin on Sept. 15

Burnett County reported eight new cases, while Taylor County reported five, DHS said.

Six counties reported new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Sept. 15, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services .

Burnett County reported eight new cases, while Taylor County reported five, DHS said. Bayfield and Douglas counties each recorded two new cases, and Ashland and Price counties added one new case each.

DHS reduced Rusk County's total by one case. Officials have said they will fix errors in the data as they find them.

Statewide there were a total of 91,304 positive cases of the coronavirus Tuesday, DHS said, an increase of 1,348 from the day before. Of the tests reported, 11% were positive. The 7-day average for positive tests was 14%.

Ten additional people died, putting the overall number of deaths in the state at 1,220, DHS said. Overall, 2% of cases have resulted in death, according to DHS data.

The number of negative tests in the state was 1,284,525, an increase of 10,918 from the day before.

An additional 56 people were hospitalized because of the virus Tuesday, DHS reported. There are currently 306 Wisconsinites hospitalized because of the virus. Overall, 7% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized. DHS has said it doesn't know the hospitalization history for 35% of people who tested positive.

Tuesday's report showed that 87% of people who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. That means about 12%, or 10,509 cases, are active in the state.

Burnett County

  • Total negative tests: 2,405

Douglas County

  • Active cases: 38
  • Deaths: 0
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 336
  • Total negative tests: 6,877

Iron County

  • Active cases: 14
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 136
  • Total negative tests: 1,426

Price County

  • Active cases: 1
  • Deaths: 0
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 39
  • Total negative tests: 2,348

Rusk County

  • Active cases: 14
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 39
  • Total negative tests: 2,017

Sawyer County

  • Active cases: 15
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 185
  • Total negative tests: 4,255

Taylor County

  • Active cases: 38
  • Deaths: 3
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 137
  • Total negative tests: 2,538

Washburn County

  • Active cases: 8

  • Total negative tests: 2,581
